About Us

The Hartford Conservation & Gun Club Youth Shooting Team is comprised of student athletes from Hartford School District, Slinger School District, Germantown School District, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, and other surrounding schools. Our team is a member of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), which is sponsored by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF).

We compete in the South Division of the Kettle Moraine Trapshooting Conference. Formed in 2011, this Eastern Wisconsin high school conference has grown from six teams and approximately 160 athletes, to 22 teams and over 800 athletes. In 2014, the conference split its teams into two divisions, North and South, to better accommodate the number of athletes.

Competition season begins in early spring with weekly practices, conference meets, invitational shoots, the conference championship meet, and the Wisconsin State SCTP championship in June. While our focus is American Trapshooting, our athletes do have opportunities to compete in other shooting disciplines on occasion, including American Skeet, Sporting Clays, and International Bunker Trap.

Our student athletes range from 5th grade through high school. There are also collegiate level competition opportunities.

Each student athlete must adhere to their schools’ academic requirements, athletic guidelines, and code of conduct. High school athletes are eligible to earn Varsity letters for their school.

Our team is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is governed by an elected Board of Directors.

All of our coaches and adult helpers are volunteers.
